For many, 2023 is expected to be the year of a return to pre-pandemic levels in terms of the tourism industry. This is also confirmed by the development of the German alltours group.
During the current winter season, the group expects a 20% increase in visitor numbers, while a conservative estimate for the summer season is estimated at +30% compared to the same period in 2022.
According to the director of Sales & Marketing of alltours, Dr. George Welbers, a recovery is expected, which will very likely surpass 2019, the landmark year for tourism.
In 2022, when the pandemic restrictions were still in place, the group recorded pre-tax profits (Ebitda) of 61.3 million euros. At the same time, approximately two million visitors traveled with alltours.
Welbers also referred to an "explosion of bookings". Twenty-five extra flights will be added to the spring schedule to help the group cope with Easter travel demand. He noted that there is already high demand (+30%) for Mallorca, the Canary Islands and Greece, and up to 50% or more for Egypt and Turkey.
